Upcoming Classes

Classes take place at A Dog’s Life’s Learning & Enrichment Center - 455 Lake Michigan Dr NW Suite 15, Grand Rapids, MI 49534.

Classes meet for 4 weeks and cost $129 unless otherwise specified. Registration is only guaranteed upon payment.

We require the following vaccines: Distemper/Parvo (2nd round for puppies), Bordetella, Rabies (for dogs over 4 months), and a Negative Fecal Exam. Fecal exams can take a few days to process, so please plan accordingly.

Puppy Social Enrichment

Parallel play is a dynamic teaching tool for puppies up to 5 months old. It allows for observational learning, confidence building, and teamwork while also providing a foundation for stable social skills. These sessions provide novel experiences involving all senses in a group environment. Cost is $25 for current class members; $35 for non class members’ first session, then $25 per session after that.

For puppies up to 5 months old, this course will focus on building a solid learning foundation by teaching core skills such as Leave-It, Stay, Recall, and Place. We will also practice important social skills by allowing the puppies to interact and play while supervised.

Youth Next Level FUNdamentals

Sunday 10/12 at 10:30am with Nikki (skipping 11/2)

For puppies up to 8 months old that already have foundation skills and need more social and environmental practice for proofing. We will play games that simulate real-life situations and focus on working amidst distractions.

Adolescent Social Enrichment

Semi-Private Adolescent & Adult

Like our Adolescent & Adult Foundation, except there will be only 2 dogs in the class! This will allow for plenty of individual focus on each dog while we practice calm sits and downs, loose leash walking, coming when called, stay, and overall self-control. Cost is $149

Pre-Therapy Training Class

Monday 9/15 at 6:00pm with Nikki

In this class, you and your dog will learn the skills, steps and information needed to become a certified therapy dog team, and the final week will include the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.

Previous training with A Dog’s Life or instructor approval is required, and dogs entering class must be over a year old.

Therapy Certification Class

Monday 10/20 at 5:00pm with Nikki

This 6 week course will meet in a new location each week to practice your skills in real-life scenarios and with real-life distractions. The final week will include the evaluation required to become a certified therapy dog team. Cost is $199

Dogs entering class must have taken a Pre-Therapy Training Class, passed a Canine Good Citizen test, or received instructor approval.

Intermediate Beginner Scentwork

For those that have taken a previous scent class and wish to continue improving their dog’s skills. Cost is $139

Advanced Scentwork
