Upcoming Classes
Classes take place at A Dog’s Life’s Learning & Enrichment Center - 455 Lake Michigan Dr NW Suite 15, Grand Rapids, MI 49534.
Each class meets for 4 weeks and costs $129 unless otherwise specified. Registration is only guaranteed upon payment. Your registration attests that your dog will be up to date on all medical requirements by the start of class. You can view all of our class policies here.
We require the following vaccines: Distemper/Parvo (2nd round for puppies), Bordetella, Rabies (for dogs over 4 months), 1st round of Canine Influenza and a Negative Fecal Exam. Fecal exams can take a few days to process, so please plan accordingly.

Puppy Social Enrichment
A well-socialized dog is comfortable and confident in a variety of situations. We provide an environment rich in novel experiences and interactions for puppies up to 5 months old to explore in these 30 minute sessions. Cost is $25 for current class members; $35 for non class members’ first session, then $25 per session after that.
These sessions operate by a waitlist. Once enough pups have registered for a session you will receive confirmation and an invoice.
Puppy Part 1
Sunday 8/3 at 10:00am with Rachael
Monday 8/4 at 6:00pm with Nikki
Tuesday 8/12 at 5:30pm with Rachael at our Northeast location*
For puppies up to 5 months old, this course will focus on building a solid learning foundation by teaching core skills such as Leave-It, Stay, Recall, and Place. We will also practice important social skills by allowing the puppies to interact and play while supervised.
Puppy Part 2
FULL: Wednesday 7/30 at 7:00pm with Nikki
Tuesday 8/12 at 6:45pm with Rachael at our Northeast location*
A continuation of Puppy 1 where we will strengthen and advance the behaviors you’ve been taught.

Adolescent Social Enrichment

For dogs over 5 months old, this course will focus on building a solid learning foundation by teaching core skills such as Leave-It, Stay, Recall, and Place. We will also work on overall focus and calm behavior amidst distractions.
Adolescent & Adult Part 2
Wednesday 7/30 at 8:00pm with Nikki
A continuation of Adolescent & Adult 1 or Pipsqueaks where we will strengthen and advance the skills you’ve been taught.
Intermediate Skills
Wednesday 8/6 at 6:00pm with Nikki
Practice applying the skills taught in our basic classes. We will play games that simulate real-life situations. and focus on working around distractions. Dogs must have class experience or instructor approval to register.
Advanced Skills
FULL: Monday 8/4 at 8:00pm with Nikki
Refine leash walking, solidify stays, and really sharpen your dog’s skills in this advanced training class. Dogs must have taken an Intermediate Skills class or have instructor approval to register.
Pre-Therapy Training Class
Monday 9/8 at 6:00pm with Nikki
In this 6 week course, you and your dog will learn the skills, steps and information needed to become a certified therapy dog team, and the final week will include the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
Previous training with A Dog’s Life or instructor approval is required, and dogs entering class must be over a year old.
Therapy Certification Class
Monday 10/19 at 6:00pm with Nikki
This 6 week course will meet in a new location each week to practice your skills in real-life scenarios and with real-life distractions. The final week will include the evaluation required to become a certified therapy dog team.
Dogs entering class must have taken a Pre-Therapy Training Class, passed a Canine Good Citizen test, or received instructor approval.
Tricks & Fun
Saturday 8/16 at 1:00pm with Amy
Love teaching your dog new things? In this 2 week workshop, we will begin learning a few tricks to help you and your dog on their way to earning the AKC Trick Dog title. Don’t care for the title? No problem! This class is also a great opportunity for bonding and boredom busting! Cost is $68
Fall Adventure Class
Saturday 9/6 at 9:00am with Nikki
This class will give you and your dog the chance to enjoy the fall sights, smells and sounds of some wonderful Grand Rapids locations. This is a great opportunity to help your dog hone their skills around distractions and improve your teamwork. Classes will include a fall color tour, a walk through Art Prize in downtown Grand Rapids, and other fun activities!
Rally Show & Go
Saturday 8/2 from 9:00-11:00am with Leah
This Rally practice event will provide an official trial course setup, offering a chance to gain experience without the pressure of a competitive setting. We will have both a Novice and Advanced courses using AKC signs available. Cost is $15 for one run or $25 for two runs for your first dog. Each additional dog will be $15 for for up to two runs.
Pre-registration is required. There will be a QR code to pay when you arrive. Please adhere to vaccine requirements. Outdoor crating only.
